Bedugul is a mountain lake resort situated in centre-north region near 3 lakes Bratan, Buyan and Tamblingan, 50km north of Denpasar. The 1500m elevation makes it pretty cool, the avarage temperature is around 25 degrees celsius (77 fahrenheit)

Major sites in Bedugul are the Pura Ulun Danu Bratan water temple (you can find it on a 50.000 rupiah bank note) and the Bali Botanic Garden. The Botanic Garden, opened in 1959. With a total area of 157.5 hectares (389 acres), it is the largest botanic garden in Indonesia.
