Nowadays, people in south struggle with hot weather and dry air without any rain in last few months. This is a lovely situation for all tourists seeking for beach relax or surfing, but hey, are you looking for some cool trip?
Bedugul is the answer!
Bedugul is a mountain lake resort situated in centre-north region near 3 lakes Bratan, Buyan and Tamblingan, 50km north of Denpasar. The 1500m elevation makes it pretty cool, the avarage temperature is around 25 degrees celsius (77 fahrenheit)
Major sites in Bedugul are the Pura Ulun Danu Bratan water temple (you can find it on a 50.000 rupiah bank note) and the Bali Botanic Garden. The Botanic Garden, opened in 1959. With a total area of 157.5 hectares (389 acres), it is the largest botanic garden in Indonesia.
If you want to stay for few nights, try to see Bali Handara resort situated near golf course in the heart of Bedugul mountains or Puri Candi Kuning, villa with infinite pool over the lake.

When is the best time to go to Bali? Always!
Daytime temperatures are pleasant, varying between 28–33⁰ C (68–93⁰ F) year-round. From December to March, the west monsoon can bring heavy showers and high humidity, but days are still often sunny with the rains starting in the late afternoon or evening and passing quickly. From June to September, the humidity is low and it can be quite cool in the evenings. At this time of the year there is hardly any rain in the lowland coastal areas.
Even when it is raining across most of Bali, you can often enjoy sunny, dry days on the Bukit Peninsula which receives far less rain than any other part of the island. On the other hand, in central Bali and in the mountains, you should not be surprised by cloudy skies and showers at any time of the year.
At higher elevations such as Bedugul or Kintamani, it gets distinctly chilly and you will need either a sweater or jacket after the sun sets.
An international driving permit (IDP), often (incorrectly) referred to as an international driving licence (IDL), is any valid, legal identity document that allows the holder to drive a private motor vehicle in any country or jurisdiction which recognises the document. To be valid, the IDP must be accompanied by a valid driving licence issued in the applicant’s country of residence.
The IDP, whose A6 size (148 × 105 mm) is slightly larger than a passport, is a multi-language translation of the driver’s licence from the issuing nation, complete with photograph and vital statistics.

Bali isnt only interesting because of its southern side and white sand beaches. Imagine you would make a tour with your hired car to mountains? Well people often imagine there is nothing but jungle. We try to give you an inspiration to trip to Bali mountains with your rented car.
Usually people start in southern side of Bali, around airport. Head north to Tabanan area. On the way there, you can find 2 beautiful churches. Tabanan is a very nice small town without any tourists and almost without jammed roads. We will have one tip for street food which opens in the evening so keep reading. Get to the main road from Tabanan to Bedugul. The first interesting stop is the Butterfly park, you can see almost all insect, spiders and butterflies living in Bali.
The chocolate factory is the next great stop. Try the best chocolate in Bali! Using the local cocoa makes it one of the best chocolate you have ever tried. Large choice of standard and exotic (ginger, chilli etc.) kinds of chocolate with the basic choice of coffee makes it a nice stop for 30 minutes.
Next head north. Soon you gonna see plenty of Agro farms. Get the guide at the entrance and see the local plants such as cocoa, coffee, lemongrass or the process of making the famous kopi luwak. You can also buy some more products later in their shop. Great place to get gifts for your friends.
After first few stops, you will be passing the biggest rice terraces in Bali called Jatiluwih. Jatiluwih Rice Terrace is a famous tourist destination in west part of Bali featured by the breathtaking view of rice terrace unfolding from the foot of mountain until the coastal side.
Arriving in Bedugul. Yes, the trip to mountain lakes and Bedugul is not only about mountain lakes and Bedugul. Finally, the weather in this area is cooler than the Bali coast. What a fresh feeling!
You should see the traditional market with some gift shops in the centre of Bedugul. Want to grab some coffee? Try this coffee warung situated near the market! Bedugul area is also famous for its strawberry fields. We would highly recommend to try local fresh srawberries that you can get near the main road.
Ulun Danu temple is located on the first Bratan lake. This temple is one of the most famous holy places in Bali. There will be a lot of tourists all day long but you shouldnt miss this place. Do you like to play golf? Dont forget to play on Handara Golf and Resort Bali!
After all these stops, you will be pretty tired and hungry. We got one special tip for you that we mentioned earlier in this article. Everyday, there is a night food market starting at 5-6pm in the heart of Tabanan. Try the indonesian food and drinks on the “non-tourist” place.
We will update some more photos and videos of this trip soon! For those who like some adventure we recommend to take few nights acommodation around this area and explore it even much more!
